It can be strange to see your life packed into a 10x20 storage unit.
This moving day was more than just a change of address for me. It was a turning point, a moment of transformation that has been as daunting as it has been exhilarating. As I packed up my life, room by room, I couldn't help but reflect on the journey that's led me here and the road that lies ahead.
The Cost of Change Leads to Far Greater
Some might see moving as a setback, a disruption to the comfort and routine of daily life. But I've come to view it differently. It's not a setback; it's a setup. A setup for the next big move, the next chapter, the next adventure that life has in store. Yes, leaving a home I love is bittersweet. This home has been my sanctuary, my creative cocoon where Looking For Hope was completed, where many other stories were born, and where even more dreams were woven. Yet, experience has taught me a precious lesson: every decision to make a change, every choice that "costs" me something, invariably leads to a return that's much greater.
That Change Still Came With Mixed Emotions
The walls of my former home resonate with the echoes of healing and growth. That space was a silent witness to some very important chapters of my life, some written with laughter, others with tears. It's there that I learned invaluable lessons, each one a stepping stone on my path to becoming who I am today – Mbinguni, a storyteller, a dreamer, a believer in the magic of new beginnings. So, while there's a part of me that's sad about leaving, there's a bigger part that's brimming with hope and buzzing with excitement about what's to come. The memories I made there will always have a special place in my heart, cherished and carried with me, no matter where I go.
Obedience AND Sacrifice
There's a scripture often used to encourage people to follow the will of God no matter how uncomfortable it may be, and it's often represented by the phrase, "Obedience is better than sacrifice." Well, the road to where I want to go is paved with both, and though one may be better than the other, they both require me to stretch in ways I didn't know were possible. I'm on a path less traveled, marked with uncertainties and lined with the promise of growth. I'm rising to the challenge, embracing both the known and the unknown. As I step into this new phase, I'm committed to continuing my journey as an author and as a person, learning, evolving, and offering myself the same unconditional love and grace that I pour into my stories. It's a leap of faith, a step into a future where the only constant is change.
As I sealed the last box and took one final look at what used to be my home, I realized that this isn't just a move; it's a leap into a new realm of possibilities. It's an affirmation that every end is a new beginning, every goodbye is a prelude to a hello, and every story written is just a preface to the one that's about to begin.
So, here's to moving day, to the mixed emotions it brings, and to the endless possibilities it unfolds. Here's to being brave, being bold, and being unapologetically you.
